In 1959 he moved the family to Rajpur, India, where he established the Sakya Center, a nunnery, hospital, college, followed by many centers around the world. He married in 1974 and his two sons are also Rinpoches. Today, Sakya Trizin heads the Sakya lineage. His U.S. seat is at Tsechen Kunchab Ling in Walden, New York.
